We can’t help to think that the Samsung Galaxy Premier was originally going to be the Nexus phone successor, at least before LG stole its crown and got the nod from Google to rebrand the Optimus G as the Nexus 4 instead. Knowing Samsung’s penchant for trying to cover all bases with its phones and tablets, it’s to be expected that the company won’t let the Premier go to waste. Hence, we still see the phone out and about.
The latest information regarding the Galaxy Premier comes from the NCC in Taiwan, which is the equivalent of the FCC in the U.S. Not only do we get to see more close-up pictures of the GT-i9260 smartphone, but we also get confirmation of its specs.
Forget about that last leak that suggests the Premier would only be sporting a WVGA display. It looks like the phone’s 4.65-inch screen will have a 1,280 x 720 resolution. Aside from the confirmed HD display, other specs remain the same. We’re looking at a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4470 processor, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The Galaxy Premier may become Samsung’s ultimate mid-range offering for the coming holiday season. Hopefully, we’ll hear more of its release date and price in the coming weeks.In the meantime, enjoy pictures of the Galaxy Premier in the flesh.
