It’s not totally unheard of for companies to meet their goals ahead of schedule, but we do have to give a solid pat on the back for Verizon Wireless for completing its mission to bring 4G LTE service to 400 markets by 2012 — two months faster than the original plan.
The milestone was reached as Verizon introduces Marquette in Michigan as its symbolic 400th 4G LTE market in the country.
But Big Red is not done expanding its 4G LTE coverage this year. By next week, specifically on October 18, more and more cities will have been covered by Verizon’s high-speed Internet service, bringing the tally up to 417 markets. Verizon certainly beats its nearest competitor, AT&T and its 76 markets, by a mile.
If you’re wondering whether Verizon’s 4G LTE will be heading your direction way before the end of the year, here’s a list of upcoming markets that Verizon is planning to roll out its 4G LTE network to in the following months:
Selma, Ala.; Blytheville, Ark.; Flagstaff, Nogales, Prescott and Sierra Vista/Douglas, Ariz.; Eureka, Calif.; Grand Junction, Colo.; Lewiston/Moscow, Idaho; Vincennes/Washington, Ind.; Fort Dodge and Ottumwa/Oskaloosa, Iowa; Petoskey, Mich.; Willmar/Marshall, Minn.; Butte, Mont.; Grand Island/Kearney and Hastings, Neb.; Lebanon/Claremont, N.H.; Farmington and Gallup, N.M.; East Liverpool/Salem, Ohio; Muskogee, Okla.; Pendleton and Roseburg, Ore.; Sumter, S.C.; Abilene, Texas; Keene, N.H./Brattleboro, Vt.; Kennewick/Pasco/Richland, Port Angeles, Wenatchee and Yakima, Wash.; and Riverton and Rock Springs, Wyo.
