It’s virtually impossible to be on the lookout for a mid-range budget-friendly prepaid smartphone and not find at least a couple of satisfactory options on MetroPCS, but that doesn’t mean the regional carrier couldn’t use a few extra devices to keep things fresh.
One of these extras is most likely the ZTE N9120, an ICS-running device spotted getting FCC’s thumbs-up. Also seen swooping by Bluetooth SIG not long ago, this is definitely coming soon, though we’re probably going to have to wait until January to see it officially released.
In the meantime, we have a couple of things to keep us warm, as the rumored specs make the N9120 stand out quite a bit. Don’t get us wrong, this won’t compete against the Galaxy S3, but with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4, it’s definitely near the top of the mid-range niche.
The CPU is not the only decent detail leaked, with the upcoming phone also set to include all the connectivity options one could need, like Wi-Fi, LTE and NFC. The size of the LCD display is still unknown, but at an 800 x 480 pixels resolution we’re guessing it will not dare go over 4.3 inches.
As for pricing, any speculation seems like a long shot right now, but considering the lower end ZTE Anthem goes for $199, the “bid” has to start at $249, if not higher. Anyone interested?
