Google’s I/O event will take place in mid-May this year, but there’s already plenty of speculation regarding what new products the company will announce this spring. We could see the Nexus 5 and/or Motorola X arrive, we’ll probably see Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie get official, but what about Android apps running in the Chrome browser?
MobileGeeks seems to think that Android apps are coming to the Chrome browser soon, and backs it all up with some evidence. A curious Chrome Bugdroid has been spotted in Google’s Campus, but not near Building 44 where you’d expect it to appear, but next to Building 45.
Is it all a coincidence? Probably not. But why did Google put up the Chrome Bugdroid with several months to go to Google I/O? Will we see Android apps run in Chrome a lot earlier than that?
Is Google ready to offer Android device owners, but also non-Android users a chance to play with some of the apps available in the Play Store? Is Google moving one step closer to unifying its mobile and desktop environments by making the same apps run on Android smartphones and tablets, Chrome browser and Chromebooks?
What Android apps would you use in Chrome browser?
