We had a little sneak peak inside the Xpiera Z box the other day, and now there’s more good news for those who can’t wait to get their hands on Sony’s new flagship handset. The Xperia Z is now available for pre-order in the UK, and Three and Vodafone have also let slip that the handset will be available on February 28th.
For a quick recap, the handset comes with a stunning 5 inch 1080p display, a speedy 1.5GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor, and Jelly Bean 4.1 installed by default (but will be bumped up to 4.2 just after launch). It also comes in a selection of colors; you’ll have to settle for white or black as the standard options, but 02 customers also have the choice of the exclusive purple edition.
The handset will set you back a sizable sum, £449.99 on the Three network and $479 on 02, but nothing out of the ordinary for a high end smartphone. Sony’s Xperia Z will also be available on Vodafone, but the pricing information isn’t available on the website yet.
If you don’t fancy stumping up the cash for a handset upfront, then 02 have a tariff which will let you have the handset for free, but it will cost you at least £44 a month and will tie you in to a two year contract.
If you make your pre-order before Wednesday 27th February, Sony will throw in a pair of MDR-1R headphones for free. That’s a pretty fantastic offer, considering the headphones alone are worth £300.
With less than a month to go, are you excited for the new Xperia Z?
