It looks like Google is adding another Chrome OS partner to the list. According to a PDF discovered on HP’s website, the company could soon be launching an HP Pavilion Chromebook.
So what does the HP Pavilion Chromebook bring to the table? Pretty modest specs, to be honest.
The Pavilion will feature a 1.1GHz Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 16GB SSD. So far nothing that really stands out, until you consider the display. Current Lenovo, Samsung and Acer offerings all feature 11.6-inch displays, but HP is doing things a bit differently by bringing us a larger 14-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768.
Outside of the bigger display and the use of SDD, the HP Pavilion is quite similar to Acer’s latest Chromebook, featuring the same processor, RAM and a less-than-stellar 4 hours and 15 minutes of battery life. There is certainly quite a bit of potential here with the larger display found on the HP Pavilion Chromebook 14-c010us, but the laptop’s poor battery and cheaper processor might not appeal to everyone.
For the moment, we have no clue when this will be available or how much it will cost. Still, if priced right this could certainly be a great alternative for those looking for a Chromebook with more screen real estate. What do you think, would you be interested in the HP Pavilion Chromebook or not?
