The Facebook Home Android app will be available to users outside the U.S. “later today”, according to what Cory Ondrejka, Facebook’s head of mobile engineering, has said at AllThingsD’s Dive Into Mobile conference.
The app (which Google’s Eric Schmidt seems to think highly of, unlike Microsoft) had only been available in the U.S. so far, but should make its way to users in other parts of the world soon enough, via the Google Play Store. The Facebook executive has also said that the reason why the Facebook Home Android experience was not available in the whole world at once is that the company wanted to clean up any remaining bugs.
While you need one of the devices it officially runs on to get the app from the Google Play Store, it is however possible to run Facebook Home on almost any Android device.
Ondrejka has promised an update for the app, which got some not so encouraging reviews from Google Play Store users, in the second week of May.
Have you tried Facebook Home yet (officially or not)? What do you think about it?
