Christmas came earlier this year, as we already told you yesterday, when first hearing about the Google Play deals celebrating 25 billion app downloads. That’s a pretty major landmark for everything Android, and we’re now happy to be able to share specific details about the discounts happening in Google Play.
First up, we have 14 “top” apps available for 75+% off, all of which can be purchased for the symbolic price of $0.25. There’s quite a lot to choose from this list, although I didn’t get my wish (yet) of seeing N.O.V.A. 3 or NBA Jam up for grabs for a quarter of a buck.
Realistically speaking, it was pretty obvious that Google didn’t afford to slash the prices of $7 games to just $0.25, so the most important discount probably hit Full Fat’s NFL Kicker 13, which is usually available for $1.11.
Angry Birds Space Premium and Asphalt 7: Heat are probably the “flashiest” games on the discounted list, both titles going for $0.99 before the special sale. Social drawing and guessing game Draw Something might also pique your interest, although the app’s popularity seems to be on a downward spiral lately.
Here is the full list of Android games available for $0.25, though we’re guessing the titles will be refreshed several times over the next four days:
- Angry Birds Space Premium
- The Cat in the Hat
- OfficeSuite Pro 6
- Granny Smith
- Runtastic PRO
- Asphalt 7: Heat
- Ocean HD
- Draw Something
- Clouds & Sheeps Premium
- Let’s Create! Pottery
- Tasks
- Sudoku
- NFL Kicker 13
- Symphony of Eternity
Instead, for music we have a collection of “25 albums that changed the world”, for books “25 modern classics”, for movies 25 titles “to own”, and for magazines “25 top selling issues”.
Books come the cheapest, each of the 25 modern classics going for $0.99. There are a lot of interesting titles on the list, but I would recommend getting first and foremost Albert Einstein’s “Essays in Humanism” and Jean-Paul Sartre’s “Being and Nothingness”.
It’s pretty weird to mix Coldplay, Stevie Wonder or Red Hot Chili Peppers with Lady Gaga, Lil’Wayne, Drake or Rihanna, but there should be enough in there to satisfy any taste or preference.
Finally, the movie selection is also very varied, starting with titles such as Superbad, Piranha 3D and Anger Management for $5.00, continuing with Hugo, Young Adult and Killer Elite at $10 and wrapping up with Wanderlust at $15. It’s unclear whether the books, magazines, music and movie titles on sale will be changed during the next four days, but if there’s anything on any of those lists that interests you, you should not hesitate to purchase it as soon as possible.
So, what do you think about the promotion so far? Do you expect cooler games to go on sale by the end of the week? How about the books, movies and albums, would you prefer other titles to be added on the lists?
