Rumors of a 5-inch phablet device from HTC have been floating around for a while now. From leaked photos to information about the phablet getting unveiled on September 19th, we’ve just about heard it all.
What we haven’t seen is any official information about the 5-inch device, often referred to as the 6435LVW. HTC is likely going to keep quiet right up until the moment they announce their phablet, but it seems that a new leak brings us an official-looking press image of the 5-inch smartphone.
From the image we learn that the device is called the One X 5. Could it be faked? It’s possible, but it certainly looks legit and getting leaked two days before the expected announcement seems to indicate this could be the real deal.
While we don’t know for sure what kind of power the HTC One X 5 will boast, rumors claim it will feature a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor. Other rumored specs include a resolution of 1920 x 1080, an Andreno 320 GPU, Beats audio and Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 4.0.
We should know more about the device on Wednesday, once HTC unveils it. If the rumors prove true, the One X 5 is expected to hit Verizon at some point in the near future. This could mean that Verizon will have quickly gone from no phablet offerings to at least two, the One X 5 and the LG Intuition.
