HTC One X+ specs revealed on Twitter, original One X Jelly Bean update expected in December

Well, what do you know! It seems that, as much as HTC tried to keep its plans for the September 19 NYC unveiling event under wraps, these are leaking all over the web.
We just recently found out that a Flyer 2 7-inch tablet might be in the works, we spotted a trio of Chinese mid-range phones that could also be on display in New York, and now we got info on that much awaited and rumored One X+.

The One X+ (or One XXL, as some called it) starred in a bunch of so-called “leaks” and reports back in June, July and early August, but disappeared without a trace since then. Upon stopping hearing rumors about the One X successor, we started speculating that the project was abandoned or was never real, but that doesn’t seem to be the case after all.
According to a few tweets from @Football4PDA, the One X+ is a-coming, but is certainly not very a-impressive. The new phone will be a slightly rehashed version of the One X (with a heavy emphasis on “slightly”), and will be powered by an NVIDIA AP37 quad-core CPU. That’s a faster version of the AP33 featured by the One X, but the actual difference in raw speed might not be grand.
The processor will be able to hit 1.6 GHz in quad-core mode and 1.7 GHz in single-core mode, according to one of the tweets, in a similar fashion that the AP33 can run at 1.4 GHz in quad-core and 1.5 in single-core.

The rest of the One X+’s rumored tech specs are themselves not very impressive, including 1 GB of RAM (seriously, HTC?), 32 GB of internal memory, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense UI 4.5 on top. The battery should be the same meager 1,800 mAh unit found at the One X, and most likely still a non-removable one.
In terms of design, the One X+ will be mostly a One X doppelganger, with an almost identical 129 grams weight and 134.36 x 69.9 x 9.3 mm dimensions (the One X weighs in at 130 grams and measures 134.4 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm).
Now I know what you’re thinking. Why in the heck would we trust a Twitter account named @Football4PDA? Well, I’ll tell you why… Because it’s the same account that offered precious info on other HTC phones in the past, including the tech specs of the Proto, which became known as the Desire X. That’s not exactly a guarantee that this particular “revealing” is accurate, but it gives our “source” at least a whiff of credibility.
According to the same Twitter user, the original One X will get official Jelly Bean at the end of December. As some of you might remember, HTC did confirm upcoming Android 4.1 updates for One X, XL and S a while ago, but failed to announce any ETAs. This is also to be taken with a pinch of salt, as we still don’t know what kind of connections, if any, this Twitter user has with HTC.
