Sony Xperia TX and SL released in China for $680 and $610 respectively

Although we got used with chaotic brandings from many major Android manufacturers lately, Sony seems to be trying to break a record. It’s basically impossible to keep up with all of the company’s new unveilings, and I dare you, no, I double-dare you to keep track of the names of their new phones.

We had the Xperia S, P and U released in spring, we had the T, V and J officially unveiled just last week at the IFA, and now the Xperia SL and TX have started selling over in China. It’s true, we knew about the existence of both these new phones, but it’s still confusing as heck to see them launched, especially so soon after the releases of another trio of Xperia handhelds.
Still, you might not have to keep track of all of these devices, as the Xperia SL and TX have a good shot of being China-exclusive phones (or at lest Asian/European-exclusives).
Both the Xperia TX and SL are up for grabs on Sony’s Chinese official online store, and they are both kind of pricey. The TX, also known as the LT29i or the “Hayabusa” in the past, is very similar to the “T” flagship unveiled in Berlin and expected to come to the US soon via AT&T.
Like the T, this sports a 4.55-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and features a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 “Krait” CPU, as well as 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, microSD support, 13 MP/1.3 MP dual cameras and Android 4.0.4 ICS.

The Xperia TX is a bit thinner than the T (8.6 mm vs 9.4 mm) and lighter (127 vs 139 grams), but, aside from that, the two seem like twins to us. Sony’s Chinese flagship goes for RMB 4,298 without contract, which would translate into around $680 based on today’s conversion rates. The TX is available in black, white, and pink.
The Xperia SL is itself far from mediocre, being a rehashed and upgraded version of the S from back spring. Sporting a 4.3-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 720 resolution, this is slightly less impressive hardware-wise than the TX, being powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 CPU.
Other features include 1 GB of RAM, 12 MP/1.3 MP dual cameras, Android 4.0.4 ICS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microSD support. The SL is available in white, black, silver and pink, going for RMB 3,888 (around $610) off-contract. Unlike the TX, this is rumored to be coming to Europe and possibly also the US rather soon.
