We’ve seen the Alcatel One Touch Idol X and even an Alcatel Firefox OS-based handset at MWC, but the company isn’t done yet. Alcatel has now unveiled two more handsets, the One Touch Snap and One Touch Snap LTE.
The Alcatel One Touch Snap runs on an unspecified quad-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and features a 4.5-inch qHD display. The phone also has Dragontail glass, an oleophobic coating to fight fingerprint smearing, an 8MP camera with LED and 720p recording, a front facing 1.3MP cam, microSD, 4GB storage and a 1,800 mAh battery. There is also Android 4.2 Jelly Bean running on the handset right out of the box.
As for the Snap LTE? You might think it would be the same handset as the Snap, albeit with the addition of LTE, but you’d be wrong.
The Snap LTE is quite a bit different from its non-LTE brother, featuring a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon CPU, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a larger 4.65-inch display with a lower 480 x 854 (FWVGA) display. Additional changes include a bigger 2200 mAh battery and a 2MP front cam.
Size-wise the two phones are also a bit different with the Snap measuring at 130.3 x 67 x8.99mm and the Snap LTE measuring 134 x 69.7 x 10.9mm. Areas they do have in common include the support of WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4 and quadband GSM (850/900/1800/1900).
Although we don’t know how much either model of the Alcatel One Touch Snap will set you back, we do know that the Snap is reportedly arriving sometime in April with the LTE variant following in July. What do you think, interested in either of these are not?
